Troubleshooting Guide
Skool Video Downloader
"No video detected yet"
The most common issue — the stream isn't requested until the video plays.
The extension detects a video by watching the stream request the page makes. That request only fires once you actually start the video.
Fix: Press play, then reopen the popup
- Press play on the lesson video and let it run for a second or two.
- Click the Skool Video Downloader icon in your toolbar.
- The detected video appears — pick it to see available qualities.
- Still nothing? Reload the page, then press play again.
"Could not resolve this video"
Usually a private embed (often Vimeo) whose session expired, or a login that lapsed.
Member-only and domain-restricted videos (frequently Vimeo or Loom) require your active session. If it lapsed between detection and download, resolution can fail.
How to fix it:
- Make sure you're still signed into Skool and can play the video.
- Reload the lesson, press play, then try again immediately.
- For a stubborn Loom embed, open it once on loom.com, then retry from Skool.
Download starts but never finishes saving
A third-party download manager (Free Download Manager, IDM) can intercept the browser's save and interrupt it.
- Turn off your download manager's browser extension/integration, then retry.
- Keep the lesson tab open until the download manager panel shows "Saved" — closing it mid-merge cancels the job.
A high resolution isn't listed
The quality selector only shows the resolutions the source platform and course creator actually uploaded. If a creator only provided up to 720p, that's the ceiling.
- For YouTube embeds, 1080p+ arrives as separate video and audio and is merged automatically.
- If a quality is missing, it wasn't published at that resolution — nothing the extension can add.
