Download YouTube videos from your Skool lessons
YouTube now blocks video downloads from every browser extension — ours and everyone else's. The good news: one copy-paste command still works perfectly. First time takes about 2 minutes; after that, any video is seconds away.
The command
- Open Terminal — press ⌘ + Space, type terminal, press Enter.
- Copy the command below, paste it into Terminal, press Enter. Replace PASTE_YOUTUBE_LINK_HERE with your YouTube link (keep the quotes).
- That's it — the video lands in your Downloads folder.

The one-time setup installs yt-dlp + ffmpeg into a single private folder (~/.skool-dl). No admin password, nothing else on your Mac is touched, and it works whether or not you have Homebrew or Python. Next time, the same command skips setup and just downloads.

Installing the full version of the extension
The free full version from GitHub is the same extension, sideloaded instead of store-installed — handy if you want the newest features before they clear Chrome Web Store review. Watch the walkthrough or follow the five steps.

1Download the full version
Click the button below to grab the free full version (a small .zip file) from our GitHub page. Your browser saves it to your Downloads folder like any other file.
2Unzip the file
Find the downloaded file (skool-video-downloader-full.zip) in your Downloads folder and double-click it. On Mac it unpacks into a folder automatically; on Windows, right-click and choose “Extract All”. Keep the folder somewhere you won't delete it — Chrome loads the extension from there.
3Turn on Developer mode
Type chrome://extensions into your address bar and press Enter. In the top-right corner of that page, flip the “Developer mode” switch on. It just unlocks the install button — nothing scary happens.
4Load the extension
A new “Load unpacked” button appears in the top-left. Click it, select the folder you unzipped in step 2, and hit Select. Done — the extension is installed. If you had the Chrome Web Store version installed, remove it now so you don't have two copies.
5Pin it and download
Click the puzzle-piece icon next to your address bar and pin Skool Video Downloader. Open your Skool lesson, click the extension, and every Skool, Loom, Vimeo and Wistia video is one click away.
